SAS alum competes on upcoming season of The Amazing Race

Semester at Sea alum (SP22) Karishma Cordero was recently a contestant on the Emmy award-winning TV show, The Amazing Race.

While filming the show, Karishma discussed life as a student and her experience on Semester at Sea throughout the season and how it helped her during the race.

Karishma shared, “I felt I left SAS with the perspective of how to travel efficiently, connecting with anyone and everyone I meet along my travels, truly seeing and appreciating different cultures, straying away from being a tourist, and most of all, having fun along the way!”

“The connections and experiences I had shaped me and shifted my mindset in a positive light. When The Amazing Race became an opportunity for me I felt I had the confidence and mindset to take on this new adventure. During SAS there were so many unknowns along the journey and the same can be said for the race. Being able to adapt was crucial during the race and I knew I was capable because of Semester at Sea. In all honesty, Semester at Sea was great training for The Amazing Race. I’m beyond excited for everyone to tune into the season and watch how it all plays out!”

Tune into the series premiere of The Amazing Race (Season 36) on March 13 at 9:30 pm EST/7:30 pm MST.
