MKT 365 International Marketing

Overview of Course

This course is an exciting, hands-on exploration of how businesses connect with consumers across cultures, industries, and global markets. As we travel, you’ll witness international marketing in action—seeing how brands adapt, how local businesses compete, and how global trends influence consumer behavior. We’ll blend theory with real-world experience, diving into key topics such as branding, market entry strategies, digital marketing, and cross-cultural consumer insights. Through field assignments at select ports, you’ll engage directly with businesses and marketplaces, turning observations into meaningful analysis.

Throughout the semester, we’ll uncover:
● Decoding Global Consumers – What drives buying decisions across cultures, and how do businesses adapt to shifting preferences?
● Navigating the Global Maze – How do culture, economics, politics, and technology shape international market opportunities?
● Crafting Winning Strategies – How do companies tailor products, pricing, promotions, and distribution to diverse global audiences?
● Launching Global Ventures – What does it take for businesses, big and small, to enter new international markets and build lasting brands successfully?

This course transforms our voyage into a living marketing laboratory. You won’t just study international marketing, you’ll experience it. Through lively discussions, engaging case studies, and hands-on fieldwork, you’ll develop critical marketing skills and gain a deeper understanding of how marketing both shapes and is shaped by the world.
