Overview of Course
The ability to get work done through other people is vital to organizational success and your personal career. Managers create corporate policy and organize, plan, control and direct resources to achieve the policy objectives. Managers have key roles in motivation, communications and teamwork to guide how individuals, groups and organizations work together.
This course explores modern management principles and the evolving role of managers in today’s dynamic, globalized business environment. Students will examine how leadership, decision-making, organizational design, innovation, and ethics create value in real-world organizations. Through case studies, field visits, team projects, and cross-cultural reflection, students will analyze how contemporary issues—such as remote work, sustainability, AI, and diversity—are reshaping management practices around the world.
Special emphasis will be placed on applying management theories in diverse and complex cultural contexts, preparing students to think critically, lead effectively, and adapt to change in a global workplace. You will appreciate the key issues involved in managing and in being managed.
