Overview of Course
This course focuses on the formulation and implementation of business strategies in an international context. It equips students with the analytical tools and strategic frameworks necessary to navigate the complexities of competing in global markets. Emphasis is placed on how firms develop and sustain competitive advantage across diverse geographic and cultural environments by exploring the idiosyncrasies of each country visited throughout the voyage. Local case studies are explored with classroom discussions and projects. Students will explore topics such as global industry analysis, international competitive dynamics, corporate strategy for multinational enterprises, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, global innovation, and risk management in dynamic international environment. By the end of the course, students will gain a strategic perspective on how to lead organizations in the global economy, make data-driven international decisions, and adapt strategy to shifting global trends.
